GrammarHell.com's Most Misspelled Names in the News returns, and
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice reclaims her position as undisputed
leader (full list).
Rice's name is misspelled Condoleeza, Condolezza or Condaleeza
nearly 500 times in articles listed on Google News.
Terri Schiavo, center of the much-publicized right-to-death/life
case in Florida, is misspelled, mostly as Terry, nearly 300 times.
Attorney General Alberto Gonzales (Gonzalez) is third, with nearly
200 misspellings.
For the first time, and not surprisingly due to recent events, the
list includes members of the U.S. Supreme Court: Sandra Day O'Connor
(O'Conner: 154) and Ruth Bader Ginsburg (Ginsberg: 101).
Other highlights from the Top 15: singer Jimmy Buffett (Buffet:
139); the late actress Katharine Hepburn (Katherine: 130); and U.S.
Sen. Hillary Clinton (Hilary: 104).
