KNOWLEDGE by world/roots guru Patrick Ryan was mastered by Al Ursini
(Kayne West, Smashing Pumpkins, Britney Spears) and features excerpts from
the 1930ıs cult classic, ³Reefer Madness² just to spice up his mesmerizing
mix of tropical rhythms and topical lyrics. Track 8 is featured now in
the
Magnet magazineıs CD compilation and on the NORML Satellite Player, and
will
be on the next Ron Mann documentary (starring Woody Harrelson).
While crediting early influences like Bob Marley, Talking Heads and
the
Beatles, Patrick notes that his tried to pioneer his own style by playing
guitar (acoustic/electric), bass, steel guitar, steel drums, auxiliary
drums, flute, mandolin, banjo, vocals, programming drum beats, keyboards,
piano, drum kit. Fans of Sublime, Ben Harper, Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson,
Sting and Jimmy Buffett should appreciate the reggae-roots influences and
bright lyrical commentary as Patrick Ryanıs easy-going but deeply
passionate
personality shines through every sparkling tune.
