Frances Flis Coss, 92, of Charlie Noble Way, Eastham, Mass., formerly of
Wallingford, CT, died, Saturday, February 3, 2007. She was the beloved
wife of the late Joseph G. Coss.
She was born in Wallingford, CT, March 1, 1914, a daughter of the late
Michael and Mary (Sabota) Flis. She had been employed as a seamstress at
several area dress companies until her retirement, and was a very active
parishioner of SS. Peter and Paul Polish Roman Catholic Church where she
was a member of the Ladies Guild and a Past President of the Rosary
Society. She had been a Charter Member and a Past President of the
American Legion Auxiliary, Siedlicki Post #187 and an avid gardener and
quilt maker. She always enjoyed listening to Tom Coss and Walt Solek
doing the Polka Show when they were on WMMW Radio in Meriden. She was
the devoted mother of Mary J. Nardini of Eastham, Mass, and Marcella C.
McLaughlin of Medway, Mass. She was predeceased by her sister, Sophie
Gullo, and her four brothers, Joseph, Jacob, Anthony and George Flis.
Funeral services were held from The Yalesville Funeral Home. A Mass of
Christian Burial was celebrated at SS Peter and Paul Church in
Wallingford. Interment was in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in
