Seriously though, I'm about as liberal as one can be, though I
consider myself a right-wing liberal, I'm all for
the melting pot and all of that but seriously, we shouldn't allow non-
Americans to take over our less skilled
workforces without some thought to the consequences. When I was a teen
minimum wage was $3.35 an hour, I could shovel dirt for $6 8 12 an
hour but, there were times when I could get a job doing fast food like
nothing to fill the times of not-plenty.
But for those younger today there should be the same option, and for
the mentally handicapped, and even for retired people.
We should not give our jobs away to people who cannot speak proper
english, who work fast food making low wages pretty much as a career.
We need stepping stones for the youth to help build character to
develop social working tools for a productive future.
Heck it should be the American kids who screw up our orders, not
somebody who doesn't understand what
"plastic knife" means.
We have a college town and being in college and working fast food is
generally thought as the mark of the looser job but when you need that
job and the easy to get jobs aren't accessible because the entire
staff is mexican that kind of ****ing sucks.
By not caring about this we are setting up for a damaging unbalanced
future for the American worker. This is merely the big cor****ate
machine screwing the American worker. Just as much as sending jobs
over seas.
But as far as Cinco De Mayo goes, I like to bring my buisness to the
Latino areas, black areas, asian areas, to patronize the small
business owner.
