Yep, it is a big problem here. The major argument that we should
accomodate
illegal immigrants is that they take jobs that no one else wants. Well,
they have taken most of the entry level jobs that high school grads want.
Additionally, other jobs that interface with the public, such as police,
fire, paramedics, retail sales, tecahers, etc. are getting increased
pressure to be bilingual, so that illegal immigrants are not
inconvenienced.
Efforts to reverse the trend, such as requiring employees to speak english
at work, are being challenged in court, and definitely are not
"politically
correct."
