Oh come on.

The 1351 Treason Act says shagging the wife of the heir to the throne is 
treason and not one of the dozens who shagged Diana has ever been charged.

Mind you,  the 1661 Act required two witnesses...

The reality is that you can't be convicted of treason in the UK unless 
there's some evidence that you sought the protection of the crown in some 
way and committed the crime afterwards.

The trial and conviction of William Joyce is often used as an illustration

of this.
