I'd like to see a three step process:
1. What were once considered the "country club Republicans" could
join the Obama wing of the Democratic Party and those once duped by
the Gipper could join the Clinton wing.
2. Fundies, neocons and hate filled bigots -- assuming there's any
real difference in these three categories -- would remain in the GOP
and ride it down to small party status as rightards always end up
hating each other.
3. The Democratic Party then splits into the two major parties, the
right would be very similar to the pre Nixon Republicans (Obama) and
the left very similar to pre Carter Democrats (Hillary).
